(2001) listed Jasminum as a genus of questionable toxicity, noting that
the plants sequester extensive monoterpenoids and their glycosides, especially
jasminin, jasminoside, jasmoside, and jasmolactones. These compounds, when
ingested in quantity, can cause irritation to the digestive tract.
