Notes:
CMT IX 2011: No evidence has been seen that Scyphiphora is actually found in Madagascar. This is a genus with one species, a tree that grows on seacoasts generally in or near mangroves. It has been reported from Sri Lanka eastward through southeastern Asia, but not from the Mascarenes, Madagascar, nor Africa (Puff & Rohrbacher 1993). Because the basis for the report of this species in Madagascar is unknown to me, it is provisionally retained here but seems doubtful.
