An unarmed,  basally woody, virgate, often leafless shrublet with very small, entire or dentate, basally villose to glabrous leaves. Capitula  homogamous, in lax corymbs. Phyllaries membranous, visibly veined, decurrent margined, with a triangular red-brown membranous espinose appendage. Receptacle flat, beset with scabrous, setose bristles. Florets pink, all with straight long corolla tube and short limb. Cypselas obovoid-oblong, ± compressed, sericeous villose to glabrescent, narrowly rimmed  at apices, insertion areole basal – central. Pappus multiseriate, outer row bristles numerous, scabrous, inner  row of bristles basally dilated, few.

A small genus with 2 species only, endemic  to Iran and Pakistan (Balochistan), represented in Pakistan by the following species.
