Notes:
This genus was described for a group of species of Rubiaceae from the Guianas. However this name is illegitimate, because three previously published, valid names were cited in synonymy and one of those should have been used: Tapogomea Aubl. (1775), Carapichea Aubl. (1775), and Evea Aubl. No type species has been designated for Callicocca so the exact nomenclatural identity of this name is not specified, however there is no need to lectotypify this name because this genus name is illegitimate and can't be used. (The species names described in this genus are however valid and legitimate; their names in Callicocca are illegitimate and can't be used, but those species names can be used when transferred to ther genera.)
