Nomenclature Reason: The generic name Schefflera J.R. Forst. & G. Forst. (1776) was conserved against the older name Sciodaphyllum (1756) based on a proposal by Smith (1941) that was adopted in 1950. With the reinstatement of Sciodaphyllum and the transfer of its members out of Schefflera (Lowry et al., 2019), conservation of the former name no longer comes into play.
