Annual, up to 15 cm tall, sparsely branched above with spreading branches, glabrous. Lower leaves obovate-oblong, small, 5-18 mm long, 2-9 mm broad, entire, shortly stalked or subsessile, apex rounded; upper leaves sessile, auricled at base, oblong or ovate, amplexicaul, usually acute, small. Racemes 20-40-flowered, up to 7 cm long in fruit. Flowers small, c. 2 mm across, white or pinkish; pedicels 3-3.5 mm long in fruit, filiform, erect or somewhat subappressed. Sepals c. 1.5 mm long. Petals c. 2.5 mm long. Stamens c. 1.5: 2 mm long; filaments of the longer 4 stamens loosely connate, not toothed. Siliculae heterocarpic. Larger fruits suborbicular, 6-8 mm in diam. with c. 2 mm wide, dentate wings, and 2-3 mm deep notch at the apex; style c. 1 mm long: seeds 4-6, c. 1.5 nun long, 1 mm broad, ellipsoid, papillose. Smaller fruits star-shaped, unilocular, 1-seeded.
