PLUMBAGINACEAE (leadwort family)

Twelve to 29 genera, about 730 species, nearly worldwide.

Species in several genera of Plumbaginaceae are cultivated as garden ornamentals and used in the cut flower industry, including Acantholimon Boiss. (prickly thrift), Armeria Willd. (thrift, sea pink), Ceratostigma, Limonium Mill. (statice, everlasting, sea lavender), and Plumbago L. (plumbago, leadwort)
