Nota: Only one collection was cited in the protologue of this species, which was identified by the number given for the species identification as in the rest of this article: "Enumeratio diagnostica plantarum quarundum Surinamensium, a D.D. Hostmann et Kappler colectarum": the corresponding specimens are variously labelled as collected by one or both of them, even on duplicate labelsbut with a consistent numbering. The collection Kappler 1562 was cited later by Steyermark (1972: 605), and Delprete & Kirkbride, 2016: 431, considered that citation a first-step lectotypification without discussion, and desiignated the lectotype as the single specimen at U [U0006198] where Miquel worked, again without discussion, and cited one isotype that has been curated and imaged, isolectotype: MO [No. 124059].
