Notas
:
This species is characterized by medium-sized to somewhat robust, petiolate, elliptic to ovate leaves, thyrsiform inflorescences with the flowers subsessile in short cymes of 3-5, short bracts, apparently truncate calyx limbs, and short corollas with tubes ca. 5 mm long. It is not well documented. The leaves are shiny, and cuneate to rounded at the base. Ixora martinsii is similar to Ixora schomburgkiana, with longer corollas; to Ixora ulei, with lobed calyx limbs and longer bracts; and to Ixora francvillana, with longer corollas.
