Comment/Acknowledgements:

The sun  dried rhizomes are powdered and added to preboiled milk. The mixture is kept for 2-3 days and used to cure fever.

Perennial, 15 – 50 cm tall, erect, single-stemmed, unbranced herb with upright rootstock.  Leaves basal and cauline, on 4 – 6 cm long petioles, narrowly oblong-elliptic or narrowly obovate, 5 – 15 cm long, 1 – 2.5 cm broad, discolorous green and glabrous above,  densely hairy and greyish white beneath,  runcinate, imparipinnate pinnatisect, lateral lobes subopposite, 5-7 pairs, reclinate,  triangular-ovate, 6 – 10 mm long, 4 – 10 mm wide, entire or 1–or 2-toothed on margins, acute to obtuse, mucronate; terminal lobe triangular, 10 – 15 (-25) mm long, 5 – 15 mm wide, acute. Capitula solitary, terminal on stem, 2 – 3.5 cm across. Involucre broadly campanulate, 2.5 – 3 cm wide. Phyllaries 4-5-seriate, sparsely hairy, apically long acuminate, blackish or very dark-green; outer phyllaries narrowly ovate-elliptic, 9 – 10 mm long, 1 – 2 mm wide; median phyllaries narrowly ovate-linear, 10 – 14 mm long, 1 – 2 mm wide; inner ones linear, 14 – 16 mm long, 1 – 1.5 mm wide. Corolla purple, 15 – 16 mm long, tube 7 – 8 mm long, limb equalling the corolla tube, lobes 4-5 mm long. Cypselas cylindrical, 4 – 4.5 mm long, glabrous, apically shortly crowned.  Pappus yellowish brown, outer bristles scabrid, 2 – 3 mm long, inner bristles 11 – 12 mm long, plumose.
