Notes:
This species is characterized by its obovate subsessile leaves, its subsessile subcapitate inflorescences, its deeply lobed calyx limbs, and its medium-sized tubular corollas. It is generally similar to Rudgea panamensis and Rudgea hemispherica, both with larger leaves, and to Rudgea amplexicaulis but this last has branched inflorescences. Rudgea mandevillifolia is also generally similar to Faramea correae, but Faramea correae has aristate stipules and longer corollas.
