Notas
:
This name is used here following Lorence (1999) and Fosberg & Sachet (1989). This species has medium-sized elliptic leaves that are at least shortly petiolate, congested-cymose terminal inflorescences with usually numerous flowers, and bright red corollas with tubes 2-4 cm long. This species is frequently cultivated, but this name has been overlooked and Ixora casei is frequently misidentified as Ixora chinensis or Ixora coccinea. Ixora casei is similar to Ixora chinensis, which has oblanceolate leavs that are usually smaller and have fewe secondary veins.
