Distribution: Cuba, Hispaniola

Note: Borhidi (Acta Bot. Hung. 35: 292, 1989) cited only Wright 2676 as the "type" of this species, and annotated "isotype" on the MO specimen of Wright 2676; however two syntypes were cited in the protologue, the other from Hispaniola, and Schomburgk 42 was subsequently separated by Urban as the type of Exostema acuminatum, but that leaves Wright 2676 as a lectotype of some kind if it is not a synytype. !CMT 2021
