Notes:
This species is treated as an accepted species of Ixora here based on the Brazil Catalogue; no material has been seen in this review. Ixora verticillata is illustrated in the protologue in fruit, and as having medium-sized subsessile ovate leaves and subcapitate pseudoaxillary sessile inflorescences. The leaves are shown as rounded to cordulate at the base, and clasping around the stem. Ixora eriantha is apparently similar but separated by its corolla lobes much shorter than the tubes and terminal inflorescences. Ixora bahiensis has similar subsessile clasping leaves, but cymose inflorescences and corollas with the lobes shorter than the tube.
