Notas
:
This species is characterized by its medium-sized leaves, subsessile inflorescences that are subcapitate to shortly cymose, rather short calyx limbs, rather small flowers, and smooth pyrenes. Zappi (2003: 548-555, fig. 6A-S) presented a description and illustration of this species, and considered it related to Rudgea recurva. She noted that it comprises significant morphological variation, and recognized four subspecies. She also noted that the inflorescence form changes during development, with the inflorescences often short and subcapitate initially but then the peduncles and axes developing as flowering proceeds and the fruits develop. Rudgea coronata is generally similar to Rudgea guyanensis.
