Annual, branched, erect or spreading, glabrous or hairy herbs, 5-30 cm tall. Leaves sessile, cauline ones lanceolate to linear, denticulate or entire or variously toothed with or without semi-amplexicaul auricles; the radical ones spathulate, oblong, oblong-lanceolate to linear, larger 3-7 x 0.3-2 cm. Capitula homogamous, discoid, hermaphrodite in lax corymb, 5-6 mm across. Peduncle 1.5-4 cm long. Involucre 6-7 x 2.5-4 mm, campanulate; bracts 15, linear 6-7 x 0.5-1 mm, sometimes blackish at the apex, glabrous, hyaline-margined; outer bracts small, 4-5, subulate. Disc-florets many, yellow, 5-6.5 mm long including 4-4.5 mm long tube, lobes ovate. Anthers c. 1 mm long, obtuse at the base. Cypsela 2-3.5 mm long, hairy, cylindrical, ribbed. Pappus 6-7.5 mm long, white, flexuous, caducous.
