Notas : This species is characterized by its medium-sized glabrous habit, fleshy stipules with a conical appendage, pseudoaxillary,lax, paniculiform inflorescences with rather small bracts, corollas with abaxial horns on the lobes, white fruits, and flattened pyrenes with 3-5 dorsal ridges. This species was included in the broad circumscription of Psychotria macrophylla of many previous authors. Notopleura anomothyrsa is similar to Notopleura tolimensis, which is also widespread in Central America and western South America.
Distribución : Wet forest at 0-1500 m, central Mexico through Colombia to Venezuela and northern Peru.
