Annotation: Validated by Miers 1851: 37 by a four line Latin diagnosis in the key as "Tribus VI Pachygoneae" and by simultaneous validation of its type -Pachygone- on page 37 (a few lines down in key to component genera) and again on pager 43. [Miers (1851: 43) designated Cocculus plukenetii DC. as type of Pachygone; Kessler in Kubitzki, Fam. Gen. Vasc. Pl. 2: 405. 1993 as recognized tribal validation as by Miers in 1851; K. Gandhi (pers. comm. 2015) of IPNI also recognized Pachygoneae Miers as validated in 1851, but noted that Reveal's Index Nominum Supragenericorum Plantarum Vascularium - http://www.plantsystematics.org/reveal/pbio/WWW/supragen.html - (mis)interpreted validated as Pachygoneae Miers ex Hook.f. & Thomson, Fl. Ind. 1: 176, 202. 1855, albeit give by Reveal as typified by Pachygone Miers (1851)] RO-2016
