Contributor Text: I.C. Hedge
Flower/Fruit: Fl. Per.: May-July.
Type: Type: [India] Kumaon, Wollich 1567 (K).
Distribution: Distribution: NE Afghanistan, Pakistan, Kashmir, N. India to W. Nepal.
Comment/Acknowledgements: A frequent and variable taxon. Whether Thymus lineans (s.l.) is restricted to the Himalayan-Afghanistan area and is indeed not present in Soviet C. Asia requires a review of the several species recognized in the latter area. The commonest species in Soviet C. Asia is apparently Thymus seravschanicus Klok. (cf. Tuljaganova in Vvedensky, Conspect. Fl. As. Med. 9: 167. 1987).
