Type: Type: Theog and Phagoo, in June.
Habitat: A rare or under-collected species. Differs from P. recumbens Royle ex Bab. on the basis of linear leaves and dull black nuts. Grows on the dry slopes, between 3000-4000 m.
Distribution: Distribution: Kashmir.
Map Location: B-8 Kashmir, Bok, Zanskar, on dry slope, alt. 11,500 ft, fls. deep rose lavender Walter Koelz 2961 (E & K); Pahlgam, R. R. Stewart 2884 (RAW).

Prostrate, branched, perennial herb. Stems many, branched from base, angular with scabrae. Leaves 10-15 x 3-5 mm, linear, entire, acute to obtuse, nerves ± obscure, pellucid, gland dotted on both sides. Ochreae 5-7 (-8) mm long, not covering the internodes, ovate, hyaline, with 2 short but stout nerves, acute. Flowers axillary, ± sessile. Ochreolae small, ovate. Tepals 5, ovate, c. 2 mm long.. Stamens 4-5, filaments short. Ovary biconvex, with 2 styles and capitate stigmas. Nuts biconvex, dull black, striate.
