Type: Holotype: Afghanistan, Ad margine deserti Registan, 20 Km S of Kandhar, 1000 m, Rechinger, f. 35302 (W).
Distribution: Distribution: Endemic to Afghanistan and Pakistan. In Pakistan it seems to be localized in Quetta and Pishin districts.

Annual, up to 20 cm tall, with several ascending shoots from base. Leaves basal, petiolate, obovate, 1.5 – 2.5 cm long, pinnatisect or incompletely bipinnatisect into oblong-obovate or oblong-linear, 2 – 5 mm long ultimate segments. Peduncles 6 – 15 cm long, slender, hardly thickened upwards in fruit. Capitula radiate, 8 – 15 mm across. Phyllaries ovate-oblong to oblong-linear, 2 – 3.5 mm long, hairy outside with narrow hyaline margin. Receptacle conical, c. 3.5 mm long, chaffy all over, paleae oblong-spathulate, c. 3.5 x 1.5 mm, carinate. Ray-florets female, fertile, ligules white, elliptic, 5 – 6 x 3 – 5 mm, shallowly 3-fid. Disc-florets purplish, 2 – 2.5 mm long, with corolla tube ± inflated at the base on maturity. Cypselas ± tetragonal, c. 2.5 x 0.8 – 1 mm, lightly striate, outer ray-cypselas bald, inner disc-cypselas unilaterally narrowly coronate.
