Type: Type: [Kashmir] Baltistan [B-9], Karpuchu Nublut [?], 3500 m, 9.7.1892, Duthie s.n. (holo. DD - n.v.).
Comment/Acknowledgements: Although the type, and apparently only specimen, has not been seen, the description and drawing are sufficiently detailed to deduce that this is very dose to Nepeta clarkei. The ovoid head is rather anomalous for Nepeta clarkei, but the specimen may be a somewhat atypical form of this species; Nepeta clarkei is also known from the same general area of Baltistan as Nepeta paucifolia. Although Mukerjee related his new species to Nepeta linearis and Nepeta connate, it is clearly quite different from them.

Similar in fades, indumentum and floral dimensions to Nepeta clarkei, but leaves ± glabrous and inflorescence an ovoid terminal head.
