Perennial herb. Stems ascending-erect, c. 30 cm with some short lateral branches, below with few very short eglandular hairs, increasingly villous above with long multicellular flattened simple and branched hairs (high magnification needed), leafy. Leaves broad triangular to triangular-ovate, up to 15 mm long and 20 mm broad, regularly crenate, truncate to subcordate, obtuse or subacute, with a rather dense indumentum on both surfaces of white multicellular flat hairs and scattered oil globules below; petiole 10-12 mm. Inflorescence a terminal ovoid head, 20-30 mm long, with or without a lower separate many-flowered verticillaster. Inner bracts linear-subulate 6-8 mm, ciliate. Calyx 8-10 mm, thin textured, veined lilac or violet, narrow tubular, ± densely eglandular villous and with few oil globules; throat markedly oblique; teeth unequal, 1/3-1/5 length of calyx, finely subulate. Corolla 20-25 mm; tube curved, much exserted, widened at throat. Thecae bearing pollen. Nutlets not known.
