Notes: There has been considerable confusion over the authorship of this species. We believe that Choisy in effect published a nomen novum for the illegitimate name Convolvulus ovalifolius Vahl (see ICBN Art 58.1). Vahl's description of this species differs from the earlier description associated with the same name by Hans West (but attributed by him to Vahl).
