Locality: "San Diego ... the only specimen I have seen of this E. crassifolium (in Mr. Barclay's collection), the corollas are all more or less deformed, apparently by the effect of some insect, so that it is impossible to ascertain its precise form. Even the fruits are not in so satisfactory a state as could have been wished."
