Eutrochium purpureum var. holzingeri (Rydb.) E.E. Lamont

Petioles often sparsely hairy. Leaf blades with the undersurface densely and relatively evenly short-hairy, also with small, spherical glands.

Uncommon and sporadic (Wisconsin, Illinois, and Arkansas west to Nebraska and Kansas). Bottomland forests, mesic upland forests, and banks of streams and rivers; also roadsides.
