Notes:

This species is characterized by its medium-sized to rather robust elliptic petiolate leaves, subsessile to shortly pedunculate cymose inflorescences, flowers borne in very short cymes, acute flower buds, and corollas with tubes ca. 6 mm long. The leaves are sometimes rather robust, and dry with a green color. This species is not well documented.

Ixora muelleri is simliar to Ixora emygdioi, with the flowers separated on well developed axes and longer corollas.

Distribution: Humid forest at low elevations in eastern Brazil (Bahia, Sergipe).
