Eritrichium sps. (Beorai, 13500', Drosh, Chitral, Bowes Lyon (BM, E, K).

The specimens seen (BM, E, K) have been previously identified as Eritrichium laxum Johnston and cited by Riedl and Kazmi as Omphalodes heterophylla. Most of the material is in flower-but 1 sheet examined (E) bears an immature nutlet, which is not that of Omphalodes heterophylla but more like an Eritrichium or Lepechiniella fruit. There is some resemblance to Eritrichium canum var. fruticulosum but differs in the more compact habit and darker textured leaves. Good fruiting specicmens are needed. Fl. Per.: July-August.

Annual or perennial caespitose herbs. Leaves altetnate. Flowers in simple or branched terminal racemes. Calyx 5-partite, sometimes accrescent and reflexed in fruit. Corolla funnel-form to ± rotate; lobes spreading; throat appendages present. Stamens included. Style filiform, stigma capitate. Nutlets 4, with margins appendiculate, smooth to rugose or tuberculate.
