Erect annual herb, 10-20 cm tall. Cauline leaves 6-10 x 3-4.5 mm, ovate-braodly ovate, 2-3 lobed, with truncate base; lobes acuminate, longer than broad, upper antrorse, lower patent. Racemes dense. Floral leaf similar to cauline leaves but flabelliform in shape. Flowers 7-9 mm long. Pedicels c. 1 mm long. Calyx 4-5 mm long; lobes 1.5-2.5 x .5-1 mm, unequal; tube 2-3.5 mm long. Corolla white, upper lip 3-4 mm long, light violet with dark violet lines, dorsally 6-7 mm long; tube 3-4 mm long. Lower lip 4-5 mm long; lobes oblong-obovate, erose-deeply notched, right lobe largest 2-3 mm, left and middle lobes 12 mm long. Two anthers with equal and two with unequal awns; hairs short equalling the shorter awn. Capsule 4.5-5 x 2-2.5 mm, oblong-obovate, retuse, shorter than the calyx, ciliate at the upper part; cilia soft. Seeds 7-9 per capsule, oblong, acute.
