Comment/Acknowledgements:

E. microcarpa Pennell is unique in having extremely small capsules (c. 2-2.5 x 1.5 mm) and the corolla being completely glabrous. However, it is nearer to E. kurramensis Pennell and E. hirtella Jorden ex Reuter in having capsules which are not more than twice as long as broad, but the capsules in both the taxa are large as compared to E. microcarpa Pennell. In E. kurramensis Pennell and E. microcarpa Pennell capsules are ciliate at the upper part. Moreover, in E. microcarpa Pennell the capsule is equal-subequal to the calyx, while in the other two taxa it is shorter than the calyx.

This species is reported for the first time from our area.
