Notes
:
This species has a glabrescent somewhat robust habit, thin-textured elliptic petiolate leaves, quite short cymose inflorescences borne with or below the leaves, rotate orange to brick red corollas 5-8 mm long, and small subglobose fruits. The specimens dry with a greenish cast, which is less common than drying brown or gray in Hoffmannia. Hoffmannia micrantha is similar to Hoffmannia minuticarpa, Hoffmannia strigillosa, and Hoffmannia ixtlanensis, all from Mexico.
