Notes : This species is characterized by its medium-sized habit, hirtellous pubescence, stipules with truncate sheaths and narrow acute lobes, narrowly pyramidal yellow inflorescences with a flexuous primary axis, pedicellate flowers with somewhat well developed calyx limbs, and tubular yellow corollas that are sometimes flushed with dull purple. This species has been collected infrequently and its fruits have not yet been documented. This species is generally similar to Palicourea orosiana, Palicourea lasiorrhachis, and several other apparently related species, see Palicourea lasiorrhachis's page for more information about these.
Distribution : Premontane wet forest vegetation on the eastern slopes of the Cordillera Talamanca in Costa Rica.
