Notes:

This species is characterized by its medium-sized elliptic petiolate leaves, subsessile to shortly pedunculate cymose inflorescences, flowers mostly on well developed axes or pedicels, acute flower buds, and white corollas with tubes ca. 16 mm long. The leaves are rather robust, and dry with a green color. This species is not well documented.

Ixora emygdioi is simliar to Ixora muelleri, with the flowers subsessile or on short axes and shorter corollas.

Distribution: Wet forest at unknown elevation in eastern Brazil (Espírito Santo).
