Notes: This species is poorly known. It is characterized by its rounded stipules and branched inflorescences with the flower groups enclosed by rather well developed bracts. It is similar to Carapichea vasivensis and Carapichea maturacensis, both found in the same region, and to Carapichea klugii.
Distribution: Humid vegetation at ca. 250 m, southern Venezuela and southeastern Colombia.
