Description     (Last Modified On 10/3/2014)
Description: Leaves with 1 pair of pinnae, each pinna ending in only 1 leaflet. Glomerules mostly in axillary or terminal panicles with 5—10 flowers; calyx 8—9 mm long; staminal tube as long as or longer than the corolla tube.

Species status     (Last Modified On 10/3/2014)
Taxonomic notes:

Identification with the papers of Nielsen (see above) leads to Archidendron ser. Morolobiae (Kosterm.) Nielsen, species: A. monopterum (Kosterm.) Nielsen. The Halmahera specimens differ in the axillary and terminal inflorescences and the glomerules with more than 3 flowers.

A. monopterum is only known from the type (Kostermans s.n.). The Leiden duplicate is quite incomplete: only one of the leaflets is attached to its pinna. The leaflets are much larger than those of the Halmahera specimens. The inflorescences are raminascent, very short and slender, with 3-flowered glomerules with only some young buds.

A specimen from Obi (de Vogel 4060) also belongs to this alliance its leaflets are narrower than those of the Halmahera specimens and A. monopterum. The inflorescences are more or less axillary and have c. 5 flowers. The calyx (in bud) is c. 6 mm long.

The Halmahera specimens probably belong to an undescribed species. Also the Obi specimen may represent a new species.
