This species is frequent in secondary vegetation, and is commonly collected. It varies from an upright plant to a clambering and sometimes climbing shrub. The bright clean white flowers are showy. Eumachia microdon varies in size of the plants and to some extent the corollas, in all the areas where it grows and particularly from the Atantic to Pacific slopes of Central America; furrther study may clarify its systematics.
