Notes: This species is frequent in secondary vegetation, and is commonly collected. It varies from an upright plant to a clambering and sometimes climbing shrub. The bright clean white flowers are showy. Eumachia microdon varies in size of the plants and to some extent the corollas, in all the areas where it grows and particularly from the Atantic to Pacific slopes of Central America; furrther study may clarify its systematics.
Distribution: Humid, often seasonal vegetation in the Antilles and from central Mexico through Caribbean Colombia, Venezuela, and the Guianas to western Ecuador and northwestern Peru.
