Project Data     (Last Modified On 8/3/2016)
Notes: This species has rather large shiny leaves, pyramidal thyrsoid inflorescences with the basalmost secondary axes markedly longer than the others, and its quite small corollas with tubes 1.2-1.5 mm long and the lobes smooth to thickened abaxially. The flowers are among the smallest in the genus, along with Palicourea racemosa, Palicourea brevicollis, Palicourea mamillaris, Palicourea apiculata, and Palicourea forsteronoides. Palicourea minutiflora is similar to Palicourea mamillaris, which has generally narrower leaves and corollas with the tubes 0.8-1 mm long. The separation of these last two species may deserve further evaluation with field observations.

Distribution: Humid Atlantic forest vegetation at 600-960 m in eastern Brazil (Bahia).
