Diagnosis

recognized by the pink perianth with the lower tepals fainly marked, the flowers not always opening fully, and the short filaments ± 6 mm long and exserted just ± 2 mm from the perianth tube, thus differing markedly from subsp. grandiflora, which has long filaments usually 15–20 mm long and exserted12–20 mm from the tube.. Although the tepals are normal in size and shape, they do not spread out fully and the flowers thus remain funnel-shaped.
