This species is characterized by medium-sized leaves, rather small laminar bilobed stipules, lax paniculiform inflorescences with the flowers borne singly or in groups of 2-3, white corollas that are abruptly flared in the middle, and small blue fruits. It is similar to Palicourea solitudinum and Palicourea longirostris.
