Andinella churchilliana is distinguished by ovate-lanceolate to lanceolate leaves, strongly recurved margins throughout, orange to reddish orange color in KOH, costa percurrent, in cross-section with two stereid bands, smooth or unipapillose cells, and abundant propagula in axils of the leaves. The most distinctive feature of this species is the presence of lamellae on the ventral surface of the costa; this character separates all other species of Andinella. This species is particularly common in the area of Tafı´ del Valle (Tucumán, Argentina).
Andinella churchilliana se distingue por las hojas ovado-lanceoladas a lanceoladas, márgenes marcadamente recurvado por completo, color naranja a rojizo naranja en reacción con KOH, costa percurrente, en corte transversal con dos franjas de estereidas, células lisas o unipapilosas, y abundantes propágulos en las axilas de las hojas. La característica más distintiva de esta especie es la presencia de lamelas sobre la superficie ventral de la costa; esta característca la diferencia de todas las demás especies de Andinella. Esta especie es particularmente común en el área de Tafi´ del Valle (Tucumán, Argentina).
