Distribution:

Pakistan, Tadzhikistan, Iran and Afghanistan.

A high altitude plant occurs between 3000-4000 m on grassy land, bank of canals.

Small glabrous herb, up to 10 cm tall. Leaves long 7 – 12  x 1 – 1.5 cm, lanceolate to oblanceolate, entire to deeply lobed, terminal longer, glabrous, petiole pinkish, broadly winged. Scapes 2-µ, hairy above, 3 – 10  cm long. Involucre 10 x 5 mm, phyllaries corniculate, outer ovate, appressed, with scarious margin. Capitulum 1.5 cm across; ligules yellowish. Anthers not polleniferous. Styles and stigmas yellow. Cypselas stramineous, c. 3 mm long, gradually tapering into c. 0.6 mm long, conical cone, spinuloe above; beak c. 3 mm long, white to brown; pappus c. 4 mm long, white.
