A rare species,  Endemic to Pakistan.

Comment/Acknowledgements:

The author has not seen the specimen of Hans Hartman from Braldo Valley, Central Karakorum mountains, cited by R. R. Stewart (op. cit.).

Small, up to 10 cm tall herb. Leaves glabrous or almost  so, thin, glaucous-green, lobed, lobes small, entire, 2-3 cm each side, runcinate to patent, terminal lobes long, c. 2 cm long; petiole narrow, pinkish. Scapes longer than leaves, hairy above. Capitula  c. 2 cm across. Involucre 10 x 8 mm; outer phyllaries ovate, 2.5 – 5  mm long, appressed, with broad, scarious, inconspicuously ciliate margin, purple and erosus at apex. Ligules yellow, peripheral ones with dark streaks outside. Anthers pollinferous. Styles and stigmas brown to brownish. Cypselas (immature) stramineus, c. 4.5 mm long, little spinulose above, the rest smooth, with gradually formed, conical-cylindrical, 1.5 mm long cone bearing few sharp spinules; beak 4 mm long; pappus 4 – 5  mm long, white.
