Comment/Acknowledgements:

There are 2 sheets of R. R. Stewart & A. Rahman 25385. One at RAW,  the other was sent to BM where Soest has examined this specimen. He divided the specimen at BM into a and b. He named 25385a as T. wattii Hook. f., while specimen b was named as T. nasirii Soest. The present author has examined both the sheets. R. R. S & A. R. 25385 at RAW, BM, 2385b (BM) belongs to the present taxon while 25385a belongs to T. eriopodum. Of all the species of Taaxacum it is easily identified by its peculiar cypselas bearing broad spinules.

Soest (op. cit.) keeps this species in uncertain group but suggests the affinity of this species with Sect. Tibetana, because of drying black styles and stigmas and dark coloured phyllaries on one hand and with Sect. Oligantha, because of small phyllaires and hairy leaves on the other hand. The present author places it in the Sect. Tibetana.  Sect. Oligantha is characterized by having small and stout beak, a character not found in the present species.
