Distribution:

Syria, Lebanon, Armenia, Turkey, Iran, Central Asia, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India and Tibet.

Comment/Acknowledgements:

A very common desert shrub of dry, stony and gravelly places, slopes and in dry ravines, at the elevation of 1650-3000 m.

It is considered good fodder for goats, sheep  and camels  and its leaves are used as vegetable in Harboi Ranges where it is named Aghut.
