Group: Monocot Rank: species Kind: Name of a new Taxon Herbarium Placement: Lehmann, lower, D, 50

Authors: Published In: OrchideenJournal 29(3): 104-107. 2022. (15 Aug 2022) (OrchideenJ.) Name publication detail
Annotation: according to its author (p. 105), "The plant was described initially as Ada revoluta Florian, sp. nov. in the yearbook of Czech orchid growers Roezliana 50, 2020, pp. 4 – 10 (2). Because of a reassignment of the genus Ada which is now merged with the genus Brassia I describe the new species as Brassia revoluta Florian"; whether or not the name Ada revoluta was published validly could not be determined, but if so, Brassia revoluta would be a new combination (and probably valid), not a new species name
Nomenclature Reason: nom. inval. according to ICN Art. 40 (Note 2); lacks a "concrete reference to some detail relating to the actual type"

Type-Protologue
Locality: "Europe" [Czech Republic?]. "The plant in culture, bought from company Peruflora" ["at the Dresden Orchid Exhibition"]
Collector and Number: [Anonymous s.n.]
Distribution: Peru?
Institution(s): HT: M
Note: "type locality unknown, but obviously in Peru"; no indication is provided of "the collector's name, collecting number or date, or unique specimen identifier" (as required by ICN Art. 40, Note 2); indeed, it is not clear whether the proposed holotype ("The plant in culture") is even a herbarium specimen
