Annotation:
This name can be legitimately published and has priority over earlier subfamily names because it includes the type of a conserved family name, Dialypetalanthaceae Rizzini & Occhione (Art. 19.5 of Shenzhen Code). This name has priority in our current Rubiaceae taxonomy over Ixoroideae Raf., 1820 and also Cinchonoideae Raf., 1820, which are not based on the type of a conserved family name and in various circumscriptions include Dialypetalanthus.
