An annual up to 1 m tall. Stem striate pilose. Leaves lanceolate or elliptic-lanceolate, 3-8.5 cm long, 0.5-1.5 cm broad, ciliate, sparsely pilose. Capitula 0.9(-1.4) cm broad. Involucral bracts 6(-8) mm, broadly ovate, acuminate. Receptacular bracts 8-9 mm long, narrower. Calyx cupular, stipitate, pubescent, limb setose. Involucel 4.5-5 mm long, grooved, setose-glabrescent.
