Anotación: In the original description of the basionym (Protium chapelieri Guillaumin), reference was made only to Chapelier's collection from the "Côte Est de Madagascar" without any indication of other material having been seen. Perrier clearly had additional specimens available when he transferred the sp. to Poupartia, but did not mention anything relevant to its typification. Perrier placed Protium madagascariense var. ellipticum as a synonym of Poupartia chapelieri (PBP 2023).
