Note: Barneby, Mem. New York Bot. Gard. 13: 813, 1964, notes that specimens distributed as Parish 1117, or Parish & Parish 1117, comprise two collections, one from 1881 near Los Angles (with various localities on the labels), and another from Santa Monica or nearby localities from 1882. A number of duplicates of the 1881 collection have been curated as isotypes of Phaca lanosissima, but only the 1882 collection was cited in the protologue.
